What is GHRP-2?
GHRP-2 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide 2), also known as Pralmorelin, is a synthetic hexapeptide and a potent growth hormone secretagogue (GHS). Like GHRP-6, it acts as an agonist of the ghrelin/GHS receptor (GHS-R), stimulating the pituitary gland to release growth hormone (GH). Compared to GHRP-6, it is studied for causing less hunger stimulation but potentially a greater increase in prolactin and cortisol.
In laboratory studies, GHRP-2 is associated with research into:
- strong stimulation of growth hormone (GH) release
- ghrelin receptor (GHS-R) activation
- pituitary hormone regulation (including prolactin and cortisol)
