What is DSIP?

DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) is a naturally occurring neuropeptide originally isolated from cerebrospinal fluid. It is known for its ability to influence sleep, especially increasing deep sleep and reducing REM sleep. In laboratories, DSIP is studied as a substance that regulates neuroendocrine activity, stress hormone levels, and promotes the release of growth hormone. The mechanism of action is not fully understood, but several studies confirm its effect on the central nervous system.

How does DSIP work?

DSIP probably acts via GABAergic and NMDA receptors, thereby affecting sleep pathways, neuroendocrine functions and stress responses. Its effects have been observed in particular in:

  • improving sleep quality, prolonging deep sleep,
  • decreased cortisol and ACTH levels,
  • stimulation of growth hormone (GH) secretion,
  • neuroprotection in ischemic brain damage,
  • regulation of hypothalamic functions.

Effects studied

  • Improved sleep without daytime sedation
  • Reducing anxiety and improving adaptation to stress
  • Protection of nerve cells from oxidative stress
  • Normalization of hormonal rhythms (GH, cortisol)
  • Support of immune and regenerative processes

Dosage in studies

The data below is derived from clinical and preclinical research. It is not a recommended dosage.

  • Dose: 100–300 μg daily
  • Administration form: subcutaneous or intramuscular
  • Frequency: 1x per day, most often in the evening
  • Duration: 7–30 days in experiments

Possible side effects
